Yet, Steve chose to attend the University of Illinois instead.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Steve was playing for the rival Illinois Golf Team, Tiziani still offered to teach him the ropes. Tiziani\u2019s efforts paid off and Steve was honored as an All-American two years consecutively, 1988 and 1989, before graduating and turning pro.<\/p>\n<p><strong>While still a sophomore in college, Steve was riding the golf cart through the Cherokee Country Club for a practice session with Dennis when he spotted Nicki. <\/strong>The young college student was immediately infatuated.<\/p>\n<p>When Steve discovered that Nicki was Dennis\u2019 daughter, he didn\u2019t ask her out of respect for his coach. Yet, it was her <a href=\"https:\/\/uwbadgers.com\/news\/2021\/2\/12\/womens-golf-badgering-bobbi-stricker.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">mother<\/a>\u00a0who gave her the confidence and conviction she needed to go pro. At present, Bobbi ranks as the number-one golfer in Waunakee\u2019s lineup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicki\u2019s younger daughter, Izzi, started playing professionally while still in high school. <\/strong>She\u2019s currently the state\u2019s reigning WIAA Division 1 Girls Golf\u00a0champion. Racking up the wins, Izzi plans to play at the college level when she enters the University of Wisconsin in a couple of years.<\/p>\n<p>She also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pgatour.com\/pgatour-champions\/article\/news\/latest\/2023\/05\/25\/steve-stricker-daughter-izzi-caddying-at-kitchenaid-senior-pga-championship-fields-ranch-east\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">caddied for her father<\/a>\u00a0at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in 2022.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h.astl72o2lch6\"><strong>Steve Stricker\u2019s Wife: Career<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Nicki Stricker doesn\u2019t do anything outside of the golfing venue. In college, she won fourth in the 1991 Big Ten championship.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2023, she started playing again as she played in <a href=\"https:\/\/golfweek.usatoday.com\/2023\/09\/30\/usga-nicki-stricker-first-event-31-years-steve-stricker-ryder-cup\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">61st U.S. Senior Women\u2019s Amateur<\/a>\u00a0at Troon Country Club.<\/p>\n<p>She\u2019ll probably also continue caddying. Being a player herself gives her a better understanding of her husband&#8217;s various challenges as a pro golfer. As such, she\u2019s been his staunchest advocate.
