Originally named Cypress Links in the early days, the course was revamped by Pete Dye and it incorporates native ponds and wetlands that are ever-present.
Rated as one of the longest and toughest courses in Florida, the fast, undulating greens call for accuracy throughout the round.

Signature Hole – The 484-meter par 5 9th is the feature hole and very much a risk and reward challenge.
After a good drive, it requires a “pure-shot” if attacking the green for 2. The shot must carry a pond about 40 meters short of the green.
Safe play is to lay up short, but conquering this hole, will make your round.
A fantastic layout with small greens, plenty of bunkers, and tree-lined fairways. The rolling terrain just adds value and a great challenge to all levels of golfers.
The false-fronts will require good distance control when approaching the green, but these also offer a running pitch-shot as an alternative to the high-flying wedge.
4. Lake Nono Golf and Country Club | Lake Nono

Signature Hole – The 528-meter par 5 15th is the signature hole and what an exciting hole.
The hole veers left off the tee and Bucks Lake follows the fairway down the left side, with a long fairway bunker saving a pulled-shot off the tee from a watery grave.
Making par here is an achievement.
A highly rated course that has water running throughout the tree-lined front 9 and opens up a bit on the back nine, with water again a feature on the last 5 holes.
Another feature is the varied shape, depth, and the number of bunkers, that will test everyone’s ability out the sand.

5. TPC Sawgrass | Stadium

The huge grandstands that sit on raised mounds surrounding the greens, give the course a stadium feel.

The restoration of this understated Donald Ross classic design is now proven to be back to his intended layout many years ago, where angles play an important part on approach shots.
Trees and brush have been cleared and the pine tree-lined fairways, supported by numerous bunkers and plenty of sand covered waste areas, bring a new dimension to the course.

7. Hammock Beach Resorts | Conservation

Signature Hole – The 122-meter par 3 8th hole is not only the signature hole but also the shortest on this layout. Played to an undulating island-green, attacking a left-side pin placement can be costly if misjudged.
A bail-out area to the right side is the conservative play.
This Tom Watson designed course plays 2nd-fiddle to the Ocean Course, but is deemed by many to be as good.
Using strategy throughout, a great variety of bunker- filled, undulating fairways will keep the golfer honest.
Wetlands, waste bunkers, waterfalls, and streams add to the picturesque setting, while some penal pot bunkers, can unravel a good round.
8. Hammock Beach Resorts | Ocean Course

Signature Hole – The 159-meter par 3 17th is the signature hole and plays straight towards the Atlantic Ocean.
A raised plateau-type green is surrounded by pot bunkers and another bunker short of the green.
Distance control is a must.
A Jack Nicklaus designed layout that will bring a smile of approval on each hole.
Fairly generous width fairways are flanked by the tough Bermuda rough, and water comes into play on various holes throughout the course.
Both 9,s finish with testing holes, and walking off with par on either side is an accomplishment.
9. Naples Grande Golf Club | Naples Grande

Signature Hole – The signature hole is the 512-meter par 5 16th hole which is a genuine 3 -shot hole that plays to a peninsula green. Placement on both the tee shot and the 2nd allows an easier approach to the green.
Don’t get too clever on this hole as it can be a card destroyer.
This 18-hole Rees Jones designed course sits on acres of waterfront property and course management off the tee is required to score well.
It is a friendly but challenging course with doglegs protected by strategically placed bunkers.
Natural waterways meander through the course and the beautiful fast greens complete this experience.
10. Talis Park Golf Club

It is played to a peninsula green, protected by a pot bunker in the front.

A Greg Norman| Pete Dye designed course, the undulating uphill, and downhill holes, with water brought into play on every hole, except the 14th, will keep all skill levels focused.
The strategically placed cross-bunkers require shot-placement and all the short holes are outstanding.
